What is Image Masking?
Image masking is the process of separating a subject (like your product) from its background. This allows you to:

- • Generate videos with custom environments
- • Remove distracting elements from images
How SAM 2 Works
Click to Select
Simply click on the object you want to mask. SAM 2 automatically detects the boundaries.
AI-Powered Precision
The model understands complex shapes, handles hair, transparent objects, and intricate details.
Refine as Needed
Add or remove areas from your selection with additional clicks for perfect results.
Save & Reuse
Masks are saved with your Product Profile for instant reuse in future videos.
Creating a Mask
Step 1: Open the Masking Tool
From your Product Profile, click "Edit Mask" on any product image.
Step 2: Click on Your Product
Click anywhere on the product you want to isolate. Green dots indicate positive selection points.
Tip: Click on the center of distinct parts of your product for best results.
Step 3: Refine the Selection
Adjust your mask using these controls:
- • Left click: Add to selection (green points)
- • Right click: Remove from selection (red points)
- • Undo: Remove the last point
- • Reset: Start over with a fresh canvas
Step 4: Preview & Save
Toggle the preview to see your isolated product. When satisfied, click "Save Mask" to store it with your Product Profile.

Tips for Best Results
- ✓Use high-contrast images where the product stands out from the background
- ✓Click on multiple distinct areas of your product for complex shapes
- ✓Use right-click to exclude shadows or reflections you don't want
- ✗Avoid images where the product blends into the background
- ✗Don't use extremely low-resolution images
Troubleshooting
Mask includes unwanted areas
Right-click on the areas you want to exclude. Add multiple exclusion points if needed. The AI will learn to avoid similar areas.
Mask is missing parts of the product
Add more positive (left-click) points on the missing areas. Try clicking on different parts of the object to help the AI understand its full extent.
Edges are rough or jagged
This usually happens with low-resolution images. Try using a higher quality source image. SAM 2 works best with images at least 1024px on the longest edge.
