Reviews
Reviews written by customers on your storefront do not go live on their own. They arrive in a moderation queue in the hub, and only approved reviews appear on the product page.
How moderation works
- 1
A customer submits a review
The review is saved with your store in a pending state. Shoppers do not see it yet.
- 2
It appears in the hub queue
Each review shows the star rating, the reviewer, a verified-buyer badge when the purchase is confirmed, the product, and the full text.
- 3
Approve or reject
Approving publishes the review to the product page. Rejecting keeps it off the storefront, and clearly inappropriate reviews can be deleted outright. Moderation runs as part of your engagement, together with the PCD team.
The review queue
The queue opens on pending reviews, the ones waiting for a decision, and tabs switch between Pending, Published, Rejected, and All, each with a running count. That makes the daily routine simple: open the page, clear the pending tab, done.
Replying to reviews
Every review can carry one merchant reply, written and saved from the same card in the queue. The reply is stored with the review, so a thoughtful answer to a tough review travels with it wherever the review is shown.
Why moderation first
- Spam and off-topic submissions never reach your product pages.
- Genuine negative reviews can still be published deliberately, with a reply attached, which reads far better than silence.
- The storefront only ever renders approved reviews, so there is no window where an unchecked review is visible.
Do new reviews appear on the store automatically?
No. Every review starts as pending and stays off the storefront until it is approved in the hub.
What happens to a rejected review?
It stays off the storefront. The rejected tab keeps the record, so the decision can be revisited later if needed.
Can we answer a customer publicly?
Yes. A merchant reply can be saved on any review, and it is shown alongside the review text.
